In the heart of a distinctive residential area in Munich’s Ramersdorf-Perlach district, a new school complex for an elementary school and a special education center is being built on Theodor-Heuss-Platz. The compact building blends seamlessly into the surrounding park landscape and opens up to the neighborhood’s “Green Center” with its accessible ground-floor area, which houses the cafeteria, recess areas, and a triple-court gymnasium. Resting on this base are the two learning center buildings, whose facades are given a distinctive sense of depth and a cozy, nature-inspired atmosphere by the green escape balconies with planters. CityArc is supporting the project by providing expert consulting and selective planning services, thereby helping to permanently preserve the school complex’s green identity.
