A stylish embedding of vertical gardens as an architectural puzzle piece in a new, modern district building - the Q8 building complex in Bad Cannstatt.<\/p>

In the north of Stuttgart, opposite the Cannstatter Wasen, the southern end of the \u201cNeckarPark\u201d quarter was realized. In addition to the actual design of the buildings, the extensive fa\u00e7ade greening here also creates a connection to the adjacent \u201cGr\u00fcne Mitte\u201d - the center of the new quarter.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

In addition to creating a contrasting play of colors between the red brick fa\u00e7ade and the green plant areas on the outer fa\u00e7ades, as well as the stylishly planted inner courtyard, the focus of the fa\u00e7ade greening was also on creating an optimal microclimate for the building and its surroundings.<\/p>

Vibrant green as a visual contrast:
The targeted interweaving of green areas on the exterior fa\u00e7ades offers the red stone shade an optimal, complementary appearance. At the same time, the hard clinker brick fa\u00e7ade and the soft texture of the greenery provide an additional contrast on the surface level. Despite all the contrasts, the natural origin of the clay and the plants form a harmonious unit and lend the buildings a very natural and lively character.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Living greenery as a contribution to improving the urban climate:<\/p>

In addition to the extensive green fa\u00e7ades, the buildings also have intensive green roofs.
The plants offer little surface area for the sun's rays to heat up, they shade the primary construction and also provide evaporative cooling. This means that the district buildings can be kept significantly cooler compared to ungreened construction methods. In addition, the green areas on the outer fa\u00e7ades and the generous greening of the fa\u00e7ade in the inner courtyard have a sound-absorbing effect. The green inner courtyard invites you to linger and relax not only in summer but all year round. Plants that are evergreen and give the open space an inviting character were specially selected for this purpose.
Climbing trellises for climbing plants were installed on the facades in the inner courtyard, which will be quickly developed by the plants in the coming years and give the inner courtyard of the quarter a near-natural character.<\/p>

Die umfangreiche Fassadenbegr\u00fcnung schafft hier neben der eigentlichen Gestaltung der Geb\u00e4ude auch eine Verbindung der angrenzenden \u201eGr\u00fcnen Mitte\u201c \u2013 dem Zentrum des neuen Quartiers. Im Fokus der Fassadenbegr\u00fcnung standen, neben der Schaffung eines kontrastierenden Farbspiels der roten Klinkerfassade und den gr\u00fcnen Pflanzenfl\u00e4chen an den Au\u00dfenfassaden, sowie dem stilvoll begr\u00fcnten Innenhof, auch gleichzeitig die Bildung eines optimalen Mikroklimas f\u00fcr die Geb\u00e4ude und Umgebung. Lebendiges Gr\u00fcn als optischer Kontrast: Das gezielte Einflechten von Gr\u00fcnfl\u00e4chen an den Au\u00dfenfassaden bietet dem roten Steinton einen optimalen, komplement\u00e4ren Auftritt. Gleichzeitig bietet die harte Klinkerfassade und die weiche Textur der Begr\u00fcnung einen zus\u00e4tzlichen Gegensatz auf Ebene der Oberfl\u00e4chen. Trotz aller Kontraste bilden der nat\u00fcrliche Ursprung des Tons und die Pflanzen eine harmonische Einheit und verleihen den Geb\u00e4uden einen sehr nat\u00fcrlichen und lebendigen Charakter. Lebendiges Gr\u00fcn als Beitrag zur Verbesserung des Stadtklimas: Neben der umfangreichen Fassadenbegr\u00fcnung verf\u00fcgen die Geb\u00e4ude jeweils auch \u00fcber intensive Dachbegr\u00fcnungen. Die Pflanzen bieten der Sonneneinstrahlung wenig Erhitzungsfl\u00e4che, sie schatten die Prim\u00e4rkonstruktion ab und sorgen zus\u00e4tzlich f\u00fcr Verdunstungsk\u00fchlung. Die Quartiersgeb\u00e4ude k\u00f6nnen so \u2013 im Vergleich zu unbegr\u00fcnten Bauweisen \u2013 deutlich k\u00fchler gehalten werden. Zus\u00e4tzlich wirken die Gr\u00fcnfl\u00e4chen an den Au\u00dfenfassaden, sowie die gro\u00dfz\u00fcgige Begr\u00fcnung der Fassade im Innenhof, schalld\u00e4mmend. Durch das angenehme Mikroklima ist ein angrenzender Raum mit sehr hoher Aufenthaltsqualit\u00e4t entstanden. Der begr\u00fcnte Innenhof l\u00e4dt nicht nur im Sommer sondern\u00a0 das ganze Jahr zum Verweilen und Ausruhen ein. Hierzu wurden eigens Pflanzen gew\u00e4hlt, die immergr\u00fcn sind\u00a0 und der Freifl\u00e4che einen einladenden Charakter schenken.An den Fassaden im Innenhof wurden Rankgitter f\u00fcr Kletterpflanzen angebracht, die in den kommenden Jahren von den Pflanzen z\u00fcgig erschlossen werden und dem Innenhof des Quartieres einen naturnahen Charakter verleihen.
